that is an internal change in the eye, I doubt a antibiotic cream could or would touch it, I hate to say, it's past me,
E-cunicluei (sp, but close) can blow out the lens, but that isn't what you are seeing, it is keratin, or protein causing the white, and doesn't seem to be involving the lens.

like I said, it's past me, time to do some research, google is your friend, also, call the emergency pet clinic, see who they recommend for exotics (yeah I know, but that's what a rabbit vet is considered), call the local club, see who they recommend, also, try to find a vet ophthalmologist, they are eye specialist and will be much more informed than a standard vet. And if you are lucky, you can get out of this for less than 500, also, your standard vet isn't much better than a walk in clinic or family doc, as all they see is dogs and cats....

the 2 visits where with a extremely rabbit savvy vet in town....there are 2 well known and excellent rabbit vets here and hes one of em..there are other vets that SAY they will see rabbits but these guys are the best...i have been thinkin about goin to a vet opthamologist ..well see what it costs and go from there..500 just isnt available right now ya know.. .. and about the research ..Holy schmoly have i done the research...couple a late nights turning into mornings on the puter....nothing seems to look or act like what he has so far..but im still looking... quick silly question...altho i do feed him unlimited timothy hay and 1/4-1/3 of alfalfa based pellets ...just within the last month ive been giving him a good size chunk of alfalfa hay to eat ..every night.....didnt u say it looks like protein in his eye.?..well could that protein be from the large amount of alfalfa that ive been giving him..i mean ive never heard of this happening but is it possible or am i grasping at straws now?...and uve seen e. cuniculi eye and it doesnt look like it to you> ive only seen pics online and it doesnt look to me anything like it ..but maybe in person it does...i know im asking alot of questions but this is part of my research that u mentioned and im asking everybody and anybody ..and u seem very knowleadgable about it...thanks so much Lisa

used to be a medic, so I do boo boos pretty well and I will say again, this is past me try emailing Barbi Brown, she is west cost (fall creek should know her personally) But, the problem is that you probably don't know the medical words the cornea and scholera are turning white, that is a protein change, usually, the question is why, is it an infection, as the healing tissue will turn white, I don't think so, two things, this eye is very clear, as in it is not blood shot, the eye increases blood flow to fight the infection, and you don't see discharge and tearing. So obvious conjunctivitis is out. If it's only one eye, the questing in part is why not the other.
So you are looking for things that cause the edge of the cornea (find a good eye diagram, wikipedia actually usually is a pretty good starting place) when it attaches to the scholera to turn white, is it viral (should be both eyes by now) is it a parasite like E. Cunicluei, is it something like a protein, Keratinitis.
I think it's probably more the last one, I remember reading an abstract talking about the susceptibility of rabbits eye to keratin forming a scar like structure, is benign like a cataract, but means the rabbit eventually will go blind if it keeps getting worse. And it can be caused by some things, in this case I think antibiotics, but it noted other causes, and I really don't feel like google fu tonight.
Try searching "protein deposit eye" and see if you come up with anything similar.

well, then you get the ugly answer, breed him to everything you have and put him down if it gets worse. It doesn't solve the problem, but it does fix it. see if a vet or if you have a vet school, or cooperative extension, will look at him (like I said make sure you breed him first) they may be interested, if it's new they get to name it.
