www.chocolatefrenchlops.com/thesteelgeneexplained.htmactually I was thinking it might be steel, which is like silver, but with some color changes in the coat, because I had a rabbit that was born black (my oopsy behind my back breading of TR112 daughter and a pet lop/rex mix) Two of the babies were complete blacks, BUT they had awesome red ticking, they were the cutest things I have ever seen.

Interesting theory. I can see it being the problem in the mixes you note, and I definitely have some muddy "steel" issues in my pet Flemish, but it is not the same thing I'm dealing with in the purebred Thriantas. What I'm seeing is fully white hairs, not just white tipped.

Yeah, did more reading, it can't be steel, because the steel is a mod to the extention gene, so Es, which rules it out cause the wideband for Thrianta is from ee. Back to silver, still wonder where the red ticking in the mutt came from.

So if si is ressive, and Es is dominant and the genetics of a Florda White is masked by cc albino, you don't know what you are getting And if the steel modified by red color (which wouldn't make sense one way) or is it silver, but I got a baby bunny that looks like the middle rabbit, the orange ticked dwarf in this link www.miniaturelops.com/steelgenetics.htmSo I don't know, this kinda rules steel out, but then I have to wonder, what is CT112 line carrying, silver with mods, a trimmed down steel gene, because if it was a modified steel, it would explain why the have such a complete wrap and uniform vent color with out the eye ring. Sorry this is really bugging me because I'm due for my next flush of bunnies (I breed in groups so I back my does up) and I'm trying to work out who goes with who.
